The Carré d’Or
The Casino of Monte Carlo was built with the help of François Blanc, a visionary investor who had the idea in 1863 to develop a whole district around this exceptional construction. Next to this beautiful Casino Square sit the magnificent gardens with ponds, fountains and majestic trees. The Hotel de Paris and the present Casino have emerged in 1879. Realized by Charles Garnier, the Casino houses games rooms and the Opera which bears the name of its creator and offers a cultural program all year long.

In the 70’s, facing an important level of demands, modern buildings were built. Luxury residences such as Park Palace, the Montaigne, the Floralies and later the Mirabeau are erected around the gardens, giving to the Carré d’Or its current aspect. In 2019, the area is once again modernized and welcomes 2 new constructions: the 26 Carré d’Or and it contemporary lines and the One Monte Carlo with beautiful glass facades with top of a range apartments to rent with taylor made hotel services.

Fontvieille
In the 60’s, the construction of Fontvieille is launched. This new area of approx. 33ha increases the town’s surface and allows the erection of several buildings in a residential district called “Fontvieille Village”. Industries than settled in a little zone made for factories and offices. The New Stade Louis II is inaugurated in 1985 and offers to possibility to welcome international sport teams. It is in the heart of this beautiful stadium that the AS Monaco Football Club performed. This Shopping Center and its lot of boutiques are ready for the year 1992, Fontvieille is now equipped for the daily shopping. Luxury residences will then be installed between the park and the helipad: the Memmo Center, the Seaside Plaza, the Palazzo Leonardo…

The Larvotto
A part of this area that features the beaches of the city was built on the sea. This residential area of approx. 21ha gave the opportunity to build beautiful buildings and luxury hotels. The Avenue Princesse Grace that goes along the Mediterranean is known as the most expensive in the world.
