Visit to the heart of Morocco, the land of the setting sun!

Discover the magnificent city of Marrakech, a country with a thousand flavours and architectural riches that are unrivalled anywhere else. Morocco is considered a politically stable country characterised by a constitutional monarchy under the reign of King Mohammed VI. This stability is reinforced by strong democratic institutions and an active civil society. Perceived as a pillar of regional stability, Morocco is a reliable partner on the international stage.

Marrakech

The city of Marrakech is nicknamed the ochre city thanks to its history spanning centuries, and has now become a tourist destination due to its location at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. The city is divided between an ancient medina, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a new, modern city. Famous for its souks, Jemaa el-Fna square, lush gardens and numerous historical monuments, the city has modern infrastructure with neighbourhoods such as Guéliz and Hivernage. Its quality of life, climate and safety attract tourists and investors from all over the world, thanks in particular to its international airport, which connects all major European cities with direct flights.

In Marrakech, you will find some of the world's most prestigious hotels, such as La Mamounia and Le Royal Mansour, as well as numerous 5-star luxury hotels. In addition, many prominent families and personalities have second homes in the city so they can enjoy the year-round sunshine, its 13 golf courses and its proximity to Europe. Over time, Marrakech has become a must-visit destination for the international jet set.

The Mamounia Palace

A true sensory journey. Upon arrival, your gaze is immediately captivated by the harmony of the surroundings, the nobility of the materials, and the excellence of traditional craftsmanship revealed in every detail.

This prestigious hotel has been recognised on several occasions as the best hotel in the world, the result of tireless work, the unfailing dedication of its 800 employees, and bold yet respectful innovations, ensuring that La Mamounia remains a legendary place that stands the test of time while always remaining at the height of fashion.

The Majorelle Garden

The Garden, which now covers 9,000 m², is one of the most enchanting and mystical gardens in Morocco. Created over a period of forty years, the walled complex consists of a labyrinth of intersecting paths, intertwining levels and boldly coloured Art Deco Moorish buildings. The garden is a gigantic and opulent collection of exotic plants and trees from the farthest corners of the earth, designed as both a sanctuary and a laboratory by French painter Jacques Majorelle beginning in 1922.

In 1980, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, who had discovered Morocco in 1966, bought the Garden to save it from a hotel complex project that would have destroyed it. The new owners decided to live in the villa of artist Jacques Majorelle, renamed Villa Oasis.

« For many years, I have found the Majorelle Garden to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration, and I have often dreamt of its unique colours ».

The Place Jemaa el-Fna

Jemaa el-Fna Square is a famous public square in the south-west of the medina of Marrakesh in Morocco. This traditional, popular and lively hotspot, especially at night, attracts over a million visitors every year.

Jemaa el-Fna embodies the diversity of Moroccan identity due to the presence of representatives of the different cultures that make up Morocco: Arabs, Berbers, Gnaouas. The cultural space of Jemaa el-Fna Square has been listed as intangible cultural heritage since 2008 (proclaimed in 2001) and as a World Heritage Site since 1985 by UNESCO.

The El Badi Palace

The El Badi Palace in Marrakesh is a magnificent example of Moroccan architecture and culture. Built in the 16th century, this palace is a testament to the grandeur of the Saadian dynasty and the beauty of Moroccan art and design. This essay will explore the history of the El Badi Palace, its unique architecture, and its importance to the city of Marrakesh.

The El Badi Palace was built in 1578 by Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, the ruler of the Saadian dynasty. The palace was erected as a symbol of the sultan's power and wealth, intended to display his grandeur and influence. The palace blends traditional Moroccan and European styles and is decorated with intricate mosaics, marble columns and ornate carvings. The palace also housed the Sultan's harem, which included more than 500 women.

Yves Saint Laurent Museum

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech (MYSLM) is dedicated to fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in Morocco, as well as Jacques Majorelle and Moroccan art. Two museums have been built to exhibit works by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and the Pierre Bergé Foundation collection – Yves Saint Laurent, one in Marrakech and the other in Paris, at the historic headquarters of the fashion house: for Pierre Bergé, ‘It was natural to build a museum in Morocco dedicated to the work of Yves Saint Laurent, who owes so much to this country, even in the colours and shapes of his clothes’. It was inaugurated in October 2017 and opened on 19 October of the same year. In January 2018, it received the award for best new public building at the 2018 Design Awards organised by the British international design magazine Wallpaper. A museum that inspires dreams, both for its beauty and its works.
