The Story of the Port Hercule
This natural bay located down the Rocher has always been the mooring for the military and shipping boats to the Principality. The Port gets its name from the Greeks legends according to which Hercule came in Monaco during his famous labours. At the begining of the 20th century, two piers were built in order to protect the boats from the wind from East. In 2001, the Port finally got his current look: a new 350 meter long seawall came by the Mediterranean. This half floatting construction is respectful of the marine life, and can also welcome big private yachts and cruise ships. Nowadays, new projects are coming in this area. Along the magnificent banks are nice restaurants that give rythm to the Monaco Night Life. On the most "festive" area, the brasseries are next to American bars when the other side consists of the most beautiful residences of the area and the elegant Yacht Club of Monaco :

Events
The beautiful esplanades of the Port welcom most prestigious events all year long. Along the very nice quays, you will enjoy the Grand Prix, the Jumping, and shortly the Monaco Yacht Show.

Family events also takes place on the Port : during the summer, you can see and international fireworks contest and get your children to the different equipments. This year, some could try the Electric Kart.
During the autumn, the fun fair comes for nearly one mont and during the winter, the families will enjoy the Christmas market and admire Monaco from the top of the Ferris Wheel.
The Galerie Marlborough also located on the Quai Antoine 1er welcomes numerous of art exhibition from international artists.
