Luxury gastronomy and Monaco: A delicious story.

Following Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, Mauro Colagreco with Mitron Bakery, Pierre Hermé, Yannick Alléno with chocolates, and Philippe Tayac who arrived in May 2025 on Avenue de Grande Bretagne, it is now Cédric Grolet's turn to set up shop at the Hôtel de Paris in Monte-Carlo, in the heart of the Carré d'Or.
The recipe for luxury pastries
Take a solid foundation of French pastry tradition, such as perfectly executed dough or a perfectly moist biscuit. Add a generous dose of creative innovation, playing with textures, shapes and unexpected combinations. Sprinkle in a pinch of flavors from around the world, subtly balanced, as Pierre Hermé or Philippe Tayac do, to pique the curiosity of even the most discerning palates.
Melt a carefully crafted customer experience over low heat, paying attention to the decor, service and emotion. Sprinkle with meticulously crafted visual details: each dessert must be designed to appeal to the eye before delighting the taste buds. Finally, tie it all together with a shiny layer of virality, a perfect Instagram-worthy glaze, a surprise effect or a playful presentation.
Leave to rest under the spotlight of social media, and serve with elegance. The result: a luxury pastry that combines tradition and modernity.

Monaco and its prestigious addresses
First, pastry chef Pierre Hermé kicked things off in December 2019 with Café Pierre Hermé Paris at Métropole Shopping Monte-Carlo, in the heart of the Carré d'Or, and in summer 2020 with a pastry corner in the Komo concept store on Rue du Milo in Monaco. Then, Mauro Colagreco will follow suit in August 2021, at the Marché de la Condamine Place d’Armes with his famous high-end bakery: Mitron Bakery. Other chefs, such as Yannick Alléno, also decided to enter the sweet market by offering chocolate and pastries at Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, a gourmet restaurant located in the Hôtel Hermitage.

The trend for luxury pastries is present on all social media platforms, with increasingly original visuals, reinvented products, new flavours and new pastry chefs who are becoming real stars, such as Philippe Tayac. Already present in Nice since 2021, his brand expanded to Monaco in May 2025 on Boulevard des Moulins in the Carré d'Or district, closely followed by Cédric Grolet, who opened his boutique and tea room in July 2025 in the Patio of the Hôtel de Paris on Place du Casino.
But Monaco's tradition of exceptional dining is nothing new. Alain Ducasse had already taken the reins at Louis XV, located at the Hôtel de Paris, and Robuchon reigned supreme in the kitchens of the Hôtel Métropole, an iconic building in the Principality where our real estate agency is also located.
